  1. Settlers Cottage Museum Open

    August 2, 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM @ Settlers Cottage

    Settler’s Cottage, Montgomery’s historical museum, will reopen for the summer season on Sunday, May 18th. From 12:30pm to 2:30 visitors are invited to learn more about Montgomery’s rich history in this restored 1840s home, located in front of the Village Hall at 200 N. River Street. Exhibits include the Civil War (did you know we had a Civil War camp in Montgomery?), early businesses, a military Wall of Honor, Montgomery Methodist Church, and many others. The museum is free and is handicapped accessible. From May to October Settler’s Cottage museum will be open on the first Saturday of each month and on the third Sunday of each month, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. If you have any historic photos or memorabilia that you are willing to share, please contact Debbie Buchanan at 630-896-8080 ext. 1114.

  2. Mahjongg for Seniors

    August 4, 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM @ Village Hall Multi-Purpose Room

    A Mahjongg group will be meeting at the Village Hall starting on June 16th. The group will meet from noon until 2pm each Monday at the Montgomery Village Hall, 200 N. River Street. Mahjongg is a popular Chinese tile game that is fun and easy to learn. Players of all levels are welcome, and instruction will be provided for new players. Everything needed to play will be provided.     August 8, 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Montgomery Park

    Events include food vendors, carnival rides (carnival $20 wristbands from 6-10 pm), Battle of the Bands, and Prison Terminal movie (inside Village Hall).

    August 9, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM @ Montgomery Park

    Events include food vendors, entertainment, Fire Department water fights, Robotics, carnival rides ($20 wristband from 10am-2pm), Petting Zoo 11am-7pm, free pony rides noon-4pm. Settler's Cottage will be open 10am-4pm, Walking Tour of Downtown Montgomery at 10:30am (meet at Village Hall), tours of Gray's Mill 11am-2pm, Mayor on the Move from 10-11:30am at the Village booth, and Ask An Arborist from noon-4pm at the Village booth. Remember free shuttle bus service is available to downtown Montgomery from Lakewood Creek Elementary School and from the Poor Boy's parking lot on Montgomery Road. Shuttle busses will run about every half hour from 11am-10pm.

  5. Montgomery Fest

    August 10, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM @ Montgomery Park

    Events include food vendors, a car show (Austin Park), entertainment, a carp fishing derby, parade, carnival rides, Petting Zoo 11am-7pm, free pony rides noon-4pm, Division BMX Stunt Team performances at 3pm and 5pm and fireworks. Settler's Cottage will be open 10am-4pm, tours of Gray's Mill 11am-2pm, Car Show from 10am-3pm, Parade is at 1pm, fireworks at 9pm. Our Savior Lutheran Church will be pushing shopping carts in the parade to collet food for the Aurora Interfaith Food Pantry. Remember free shuttle bus service is available to downtown Montgomery from Lakewood Creek Elementary School and from the Poor Boy's parking lot on Montgomery Road. Shuttle busses will run about every half hour from 11am-10pm.

    Drop off items for recycling! Items accepted are electronics of all types (includes anything that plugs in), metal, and batteries of all types. In addition, a textile recycler will offer collection of textiles of all types--clothing, anything made of fabric, towels, shoes, leather goods, etc. Not accepted: tires, lightbulbs and paint.
