Parties
Block
Parties have become so popular in recent years that the Intergovernmental
and Community Committee of the Village has begun to organize
these events in a more orderly fashion. The Village encourages
these neighborly gatherings as a way for neighbors to socialize
and get to know each other better and for new residents to get
acquainted.
A
Temporary Use Permit
is required for each block party. The Village encourages Block
Party organizers to work with the Village to coordinate their
event. The Village will supply invitations
and two "Greeter" T-shirts at no charge. In addition,
the Police Department will contact the Block Party organizers
to arrange for barricades to block off the street, and to coordinate
a time for the Police and/or Fire Department to visit the party
to help entertain the little and big kids.
