Water Conservation Ordinance

The Village’s water conservation ordinance (Village of Montgomery Code, Section 20-44) is in effect May 1 through September 30. Lawn and landscape watering and filling of swimming pools hours are 6:00 am-9:00 am and 6:00 pm-9:00 pm on alternate days. Properties with an even-numbered address may water on even-numbered calendar dates, and properties with an odd-numbered address may water on odd-numbered calendar dates. These restrictions do not apply to hand-held watering devices, swimming pools holding 50 gallons or less or vehicle and equipment washing. From July 1 through August 31, use of water from the Village system to water and establish new sod and seeded turf lawns is prohibited. During this period, water from the Village system may be used to water new turf areas less than 100 square feet in area, such as lawn repairs.
