Solicitor
Permit
Any
person wishing to engage in the business of canvassing or
soliciting at the residences in the Village must first obtain
a permit from the Village Hall. The registrant must give his
complete identification, his signature, and the name of his
employer and the nature of the products or services that he
is representing. The fee per individual is $30.00. The period
of expiration is 30 days from the date of issuance. Upon submitting
the registration form, the application is forwarded to the
Chief of Police to investigate the accuracy of the information
and the good character of the applicant. Such investigation
will be completed in 10 days.
Each
person must at all times, while engaged in the business of
soliciting or canvassing in the Village of Montgomery, carry
and display upon his or her person the registration certificate.
The hours of solicitation are between 9:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m.
Monday through Saturday. Solicitation is not allowed on Sundays
or holidays.
Charitable,
religious or political solicitors or any other non-commercial
solicitors are not required to obtain a Solicitor Permit.
