Zoning Board of Appeals


Zoning Board of Appeals members are appointed by the Village President, subject to the approval of the Village Board. Current members are: 

Mike Hammond (Term Expires January 31, 2024) 

Patrick Kelsey (Term Expires January 31, 2024) 

Marion Bond (Term Expires January 31, 2025)
Joe Yen (Term Expires January 31, 2023)

Mildred McNeal-James (Term Expires January 31, 2026)
Tom Yakaitis (Term Expires January 31, 2022)


All meetings are open to the public. Meetings are held on an as needed basis but are generally held at 7 p.m. on the first Thursday of each month in the Board Room at the Village Hall. Meeting agendas and Public Notices of these and any additional Zoning Board of a Appeal meetings will be posted at the Village Hall at least 48 hours before the meeting. 

Zoning Board of Appeals Duties

The Zoning Board of Appeals is vested with the following jurisdiction and authority:

  1. To hear and decide an appeal from an administrative order, requirement, decision or determination made by the Zoning Officer
  2. To hear and decide all other matters referred to it upon which it is required to decide
  3. To hear all applications for variations and thereafter submit reports of findings and recommendations thereon to the Village Board
  4. The concurring vote of four members of the Zoning Board of Appeals is necessary to reverse any other, requirement, decision or determination of the Zoning Office, or to decide in favor of the applicant in any manner upon which it is required to decide
